Annual Bhoramdeo Mahotsav Dates Announced for the Spring Season
The district administration and culture department have finalized dates for the celebrated three-day festival featuring classical music, folk dance, and handicrafts at the temple precinct.
The Kabirdham district administration, in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh Department of Culture, has officially announced the dates for the upcoming Annual Bhoramdeo Mahotsav. The celebrated three-day cultural celebration will take place across the historic grounds flanking the 11th-century Bhoramdeo Temple complex in Chaura village.
Festival Highlights
The festival stands as the cultural centerpiece of Kawardha's annual calendar, attracting celebrated classical vocalists, instrumentalists, folk ensembles, and regional dance troupes from across Chhattisgarh and neighboring states.
- Folk Traditions: Daily evening stages will showcase authentic Chhattisgarhi folk dance forms, including *Panthi*, *Raut Nacha*, *Karma*, and *Sua*, performed by master exponents in traditional tribal attire.
- Classical Recitals: Renowned Hindustani classical vocalists and sarod/sitar maestros are slated for twilight performances against the illuminated backdrop of the ancient Nagara stone sanctum.
- Artisans' Craft Fair: A dedicated handicrafts village (*Shilpgram*) will feature over forty stalls where regional artisans, Kosa silk weavers, brass metal smiths, and terracotta potters will demonstrate their techniques and vend authentic handcrafted wares directly to visitors.
Visitor Arrangements
District authorities have organized dedicated shuttle buses operating between the Kawardha Town Bus Stand and Chaura village throughout the three festival days. Adequate vehicle parking, drinking water stations, and solar lighting along the approach corridors have been arranged to ensure visitor comfort.
